Mathias Van de Wiele and Noah Punkt met in winter 2017 for a casual and cozy recording session while beautiful snowflakes where falling from the sky. Both musicians instantly found a clear and interactive musical language: acoustic, direct and full of warmth and rich in colors. Two instruments talking, whispering and sometimes arguing with each other using and extending the language of Jazz and Improvised Music. Intimate music that is created right in the very moment.
Mathias Van de Wiele is a Ghent based guitar player who is best known for his work with Moker, Wheels and Lamar, also works regularly for theatre and dance productions, as a sideman and runs his own label called Chopstick Records.
German bass player Noah Punkt is a known figure in the German and Swiss Jazz and Improv scene. He runs a recording and documentations project „otherwise“ and besides his work in Germany and Switzerland with punkt3, Jaeger/Punkt/Hemingway and SENSOR he’s now residing and playing in Belgium.
